Atlético Nacional beat Independiente Medellín 3-2 in a Copa Colombia quarter-final at the Atanasio Girardot and go through to the semi-finals. They led 2-0 at the break, then had to survive a spell in which the visitors pulled two goals back in nine minutes. César Haydar headed Nacional in front in the 23rd minute from a corner. Another corner brought the second in the 41st, when the ball broke around the box and deflected in off a Medellín defender. Reports differ on who gets credit for it. After the interval Agustín Martegani converted a penalty around the hour, beating Franco Armani. Andrés Román restored the two-goal margin in the 65th minute, cutting in on a counter and driving a low shot home. Medellín made it 3-2 in the 70th and spent the closing stages, including six minutes of stoppage time, pushing for an equaliser from set pieces. Nacional hang on and move into the last four, since the tie was settled over a single match. Medellín, coached by Luis Amaranto Perea, are out of the competition.
