Blackburn beat West Ham 2-1 at Ewood Park, and they did it with 35 per cent of the ball and five shots to the visitors' 20. West Ham were the better side for long spells, but Scott Parker is still waiting for his first win as their manager. It stayed 0-0 until the 54th minute, when Andri Gudjohnsen headed in on the break and the ball went through Mads Hermansen's legs. Dapo Afolayan, who came through the West Ham youth system, made it 2-0 in the 71st minute with a shot into the corner, after Max Kilman had gone down following a clash of heads. Joel Piroe pulled one back in the 82nd minute and the home crowd grew anxious. Tomas Soucek headed straight at the keeper in the final seconds. West Ham had also hit the woodwork in the second half. Parker's debut at Cardiff finished 3-3. Blackburn had lost their previous two games, 4-0 at Swansea among them, and the win takes them from 18 points to 21. West Ham stay on 23 points.
