Sparta Rotterdam
Sparta Rotterdam is the oldest professional football club in the Netherlands, founded in 1888 in Rotterdam. Competing in the Eredivisie, the club plays at Het Kasteel (The Castle), one of Dutch football's most atmospheric grounds. Known as 'De Kasteelheren' (The Castle Lords), Sparta Rotterdam holds a special place in Dutch football history, having won the national championship six times. The club has a distinctive red and white striped kit and a proud tradition of developing home-grown talent. Despite being overshadowed by Rotterdam rivals Feyenoord, Sparta has maintained its place in Dutch football with loyal supporters who cherish the club's historic identity. The atmospheric Het Kasteel stadium and the club's deep roots in Rotterdam make Sparta one of Dutch football's most beloved and historic institutions.
