Heracles Almelo is a Dutch football club founded in 1903 in Almelo, a city in the Overijssel province. Competing in the Eredivisie, the club plays at the Polman Stadion. Named after the mythological hero Hercules, the club's identity is built on strength and resilience. Known as 'De Heraclieden,' the club has been a regular presence in the Eredivisie and is known for punching above its weight against bigger Dutch clubs. Heracles is celebrated for producing talented players and playing organised, competitive football. Their black and yellow colours make them easily recognisable. The club has a tight-knit community following in Almelo and the surrounding Twente region, and their history of competing at the top level despite limited resources makes them a respected name in Dutch football.
