Den Haag won 3-1 against Sparta Rotterdam in the first match under interim coach Levi Schwiebbe, five days after Robin Peter was sacked. Fans sang Peter's name in the eighth minute and hung a banner thanking him, then watched their side take the points. Juho Kilo put the hosts ahead in the 22nd minute, heading in after Jalen Hawkins knocked on a corner. Bas Kuipers levelled in the 50th minute from a Milan Zonneveld header. Seven minutes later Isaac Babadi played a poor back-pass, Michael Brouwer failed to control it and Nigel Thomas scored into the empty net. Captain Daryl van Mieghem made it 3-1 in the 79th minute. Brouwer went off injured shortly before that goal. It was only the second league win of the season for Den Haag, who have 9 points from 12 games and sit 17th of 18, two behind Excelsior. Sparta Rotterdam have now lost six times this season.
