Willem II and PEC Zwolle shared the points in Tilburg on Friday night, 1-1, and both goals came inside the first three minutes. Sydney van Hooijdonk put the visitors ahead in the 2nd minute, turning and shooting after Namli worked the ball in. Willem II levelled within 130 seconds. Overlapping right-back Hidde ter Avest scored in the 3rd minute from a bouncing ball, finishing into the far corner past Jasper Schendelaar. After that the chances dried up. Devin Haen headed over and later shot wide, and Schendelaar saved from Jari Schuurman in the 68th minute. Just before the break Zwolle wanted a penalty when Van Hooijdonk and Calvin Twigt grappled in the box, but referee Allard Lindhout waved it away and VAR left the decision alone. The point keeps Willem II bottom of the table, though they had gone 28 league games without a win. Zwolle, under interim coach Dennis van der Ree, had taken seven points from three games since Henry van der Vegt was sacked, and move up to 13th.
