Volga Ulyanovsk left Khabarovsk with all three points on Sunday, beating SKA-Khabarovsk 2-1 in round 14 of the FNL at the Lenin Stadium. The winner came in the 80s from Aleksandr Saplinov, after a first half in which the sides traded one goal each. Volga went ahead early through Astemir Khashkulov, around the quarter-hour mark. The home side answered quickly. Nichita Motpan scored from the penalty spot in the 24th minute to make it 1-1, and that was the score at the break. The second half stayed tight. SKA-Khabarovsk had 59 per cent of the ball, but Volga had the better of the shooting, with 13 attempts to 12 and six on target to four. Four yellow cards were shown, two of them in the 86th minute, and nobody was sent off. For SKA-Khabarovsk it is a home defeat in a season where they have already drawn 1-1 with the same opponents in April. Volga take the points from a ground where that earlier meeting ended level.
