Фламенго против Индепендиенте Вале

Flamengo and Ind. del Valle shared a dramatic 1-1 draw at the Maracanã, but it was enough to send the Brazilian giants through to the Copa Libertadores semifinals on a 3-1 aggregate. The standout moment came late, with Flamengo forced to find a way through while down to ten men for the final half-hour. Djorkaeff Reasco put the Ecuadorians ahead in the 30th minute, giving the visitors real hope of a stunning upset. The tie was turned on its head when Jorginho picked up a second yellow card in the 64th minute and was sent off, leaving Flamengo to defend a slim aggregate cushion a man short. Ind. del Valle thought they had a second when Mateo Carabajal struck in the 77th minute, but it was ruled out for offside. Then, against the run of play, Giorgian de Arrascaeta rose to head home the equalizer in the 82nd minute. The result ends Ind. del Valle's Libertadores dream despite a gutsy display in Rio, while Flamengo move on to face Estudiantes de La Plata in the last four, showing the resilience to advance even with ten men on the pitch.
