Борусија Дортмунд против ФК Бајерн Минхен

Bayern Munich got the better of Borussia Dortmund in the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup, winning 2-1 at Signal Iduna Park to lift their opening trophy of the season. The visitors were sharper from the first whistle and never really let go of control, even as Dortmund threw everything at them late on. Nathaniel Brown opened the scoring in the 28th minute with a powerful strike, and Michael Olise doubled the lead right before the break with a clean left-footed finish. Dortmund had a goal chalked off for offside earlier in the half before Fabio Silva pulled one back in the 75th minute to set up a tense finish. Things got worse for the hosts when Rami Bensebaini was sent off in stoppage time for a reckless challenge, and substitute Maxi Beier then blazed the best chance of the night over the bar with the goal gaping. For Bayern Munich, it's an early statement as both reigning Bundesliga and Cup champions, adding a 12th Super Cup title to the trophy cabinet. Borussia Dortmund, playing as league runners-up, will be frustrated by the missed opportunities and the red card that ultimately shut the door on a comeback.
