Zpráva ze zápasu: Al Ain 4-0 Al Nassr
Al Ain made a statement in their AFC Champions League Elite opener, thrashing a star-studded Al Nassr 4-0 at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium. The Rahimi brothers stole the show, combining for three goals as the reigning continental champions announced themselves in style.
Houssine Rahimi opened the scoring in the 25th minute after a defensive error, then doubled up in the 63rd. His older brother Soufiane Rahimi made it three in the 72nd, a VAR-confirmed strike, before Georgios Giakoumakis completed the rout in the 84th. Al Nassr had a penalty appeal turned down by VAR, and captain Cristiano Ronaldo saw a late free kick saved as his side struggled to create.
For Al Ain, it's the perfect start to defending their AFC crown, having knocked Al Nassr out on penalties last season. For Al Nassr, already stretched thin under new coach Ange Postecoglou, it's a rough opening statement about the work still needed this campaign.
