Porto vs Benfica

FC Porto delivered a statement win at Estádio do Dragão, beating Benfica 3-1 in a fiery Primeira Liga clássico that turned on a moment of madness from the visitors. What looked like a tight contest exploded into a one-sided second half once Benfica were reduced to ten men. Gabri Veiga opened the scoring in the 31st minute, and just four minutes later Benfica's night unraveled when Clément Lenglet was shown a straight red for striking André Silva. Benfica briefly leveled through Alexander Bah in the 51st minute, but Porto responded ruthlessly, with Victor Froholdt restoring the lead in the 54th minute and Hwang In-beom sealing it in the 60th. The result stretches Porto's perfect start to seven straight wins and opens a five-point gap at the top, while handing Benfica their first league defeat since January 2025.
