Gil Vicente vs Academico Viseu

Académico de Viseu pulled off a surprise result at the Estádio Cidade de Barcelos, edging Gil Vicente 1-0 to claim their first win of the season. The visitors struck early and then had to survive a relentless second-half siege from the home side to hold on for all three points. Brazilian midfielder João Guilherme settled the contest inside the opening four minutes, pouncing on a defensive lapse to slot home the only goal. From there, Gil Vicente dominated territory and chances without reward: Héctor Hernández headed wide around the 20th minute, Joelson Fernandes was denied by goalkeeper Ewerton on 28 minutes, and Diogo Prioste nodded narrowly off target soon after. The hosts kept pushing after the break through Touré, Lausen, and Hernández, but could never find an equalizer. The defeat was a significant one for Gil Vicente, who conceded their first goal and suffered their first loss of the campaign, slipping to 6th place on 7 points despite having a game in hand. For Académico de Viseu, it was a much-needed breakthrough after a winless start, lifting them to 5 points and offering real momentum going forward.
