Gil Vicente vs Casa Pia

Gil Vicente made home advantage count at Estádio Cidade de Barcelos, brushing aside Casa Pia 2-0 in a first half that settled the contest early. The standout figure was Héctor Hernández, who had a hand in both goals and walked away as the game's best player. Gil Martins opened the scoring in the 20th minute, turning home a low ball from Héctor Hernández. Just before the interval, Hernández got on the scoresheet himself, calmly converting a 45th-minute penalty to make it 2-0 at the break. The second half was tamer, with bookings for Seba Pérez on the Casa Pia side and Marvin Gilbert for the hosts, but no further goals or major flashpoints as Gil Vicente comfortably saw out the win. The numbers backed up the scoreline, with Gil Vicente controlling 56% of possession and racking up a healthy 1.74 expected goals to Casa Pia's 0.76. It's a confidence-boosting result at home for Gil Vicente, while Casa Pia will need to tighten up defensively after being undone twice before the hour mark.
