Mainz vs Bayer Leverkusen

Bayer Leverkusen survived a seven-goal thriller at the Mewa Arena, edging Mainz 4-3 in a Bundesliga clash that swung back and forth from the opening whistle. The visitors stormed out of the gate, but Mainz's Anthony Caci produced the standout moment with a first-half brace that dragged his side level before the break. Leverkusen raced ahead through Robert Andrich in the 5th minute and Patrik Schick four minutes later, only for Caci to strike twice, in the 33rd and 42nd minutes, making it 2-2 at halftime. Jarell Quansah restored Leverkusen's lead in the 55th minute, and Moussa Diaby added a fourth in the 65th. Benedict Hollerbach pulled one back deep into stoppage time, but it came too late for Mainz. No red cards were shown, though several players on both sides picked up bookings. The win keeps Leverkusen's early-season form rolling, while Mainz will rue a sluggish start that undid an otherwise spirited comeback effort.
