ایالات متحده مقابل بلژیک

Belgium delivered a ruthless 4-1 defeat to the host United States in the World Cup Round of 16 at Lumen Field, Seattle. Charles De Ketelaere was the standout, netting twice in two minutes to put the Red Devils firmly in control. De Ketelaere broke the deadlock in the 9th minute before Malik Tillman equalized with a deflected free kick in the 31st. The Belgian struck again with a header two minutes later. A calamitous clearance error from goalkeeper Matt Freese allowed Hans Vanaken to make it 3-1 in the 57th, and Romelu Lukaku sealed it in stoppage time. Christian Pulisic limped off injured in the 59th, adding to the hosts' misery. For the USMNT, it is a painful exit on home soil, their quest for a first quarterfinal since 2002 ends here. Belgium march into the last eight looking every bit like a genuine contender.
