منچستر سیتی مقابل برایتون

Brighton won 1-0 at the Etihad on Saturday, and goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen was the reason it stayed that way. Manchester City had plenty of the ball and the chances, but could not find a way past him. The only goal came in the 11th minute. Diego Gómez sent a low cross in, Matheus Nunes missed it, and it bounced off Maxim De Cuyper before Yasin Ayari tapped in from close range. It was a lucky break for the visitors. Iliman Ndiaye and Erling Haaland came closest for City, and Verbruggen made six saves in all. City appealed for handball against Brighton several times, and VAR looked at it three times without awarding a penalty. Facundo Buonanotte aside, Brighton also had their own chances to score a second. It is a second league game in a row without a win for City. Brighton have now gone five meetings without losing to them.
