코벤트리 시티 vs 뉴캐슬 유나이티드

Coventry City pulled off one of the Premier League's biggest shocks so far, thrashing Newcastle United 4-1 at home for their first top-flight home goal in over 25 years. Jack Rudoni opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 6th minute after Lukáš Horníček brought down Sidiki Cherif in the box, and Cherif doubled the lead himself just after halftime with a first-time finish through a crowd of bodies. Sven Botman pulled one back for the visitors in the 70th minute, but defensive lapses let Coventry respond quickly, with substitute Ellis Simms scoring in the 81st minute before Stephen Mfuni sealed the rout in the 86th. For newly-promoted Coventry City, it was a statement night that lifted them out of the relegation zone and showed they can trouble established top-flight sides at home. For Newcastle United, it was a chastening evening under manager Matthias Jaissle, with missed first-half chances compounding a costly late defensive collapse.
