Raport de meci: AS Roma 2-0 Genoa
AS Roma beat Genoa 2-0 at the Olimpico, with both goals arriving in the second half after a first 45 minutes that produced plenty of chances and no score. The opener was a good one: Santiago Castro turned in a crowd at the near post and lifted the ball into the far top corner from about seven yards.
The goalless first half still had its moments. Leonardo Balerdi hit the crossbar for the hosts from a corner, and Stephan El Shaarawy did the same for Genoa with a first-time effort from the edge of the area. Castro scored in the 50th minute, his first goal for the club. In the 68th, Matías Soulé carried the ball forward and worked a one-two with Lorenzo Pellegrini. His shot was deflected and fell to Emanuele Lulli at the back post, who scored his first Serie A goal.
Roma had gone into the game after two league draws and a 4-3 Champions League defeat to Real Madrid. The win takes them to 17 points, two behind Inter. Daniele De Rossi's Genoa stay on 4 points in 19th, and host Venezia on 25 October. Roma face Slovan Bratislava on Tuesday, then travel to Napoli.
