Venezia vs Lazio

Lazio climbed to joint top of Serie A after grinding out a 2-0 win at Venezia, with goalkeeper Christos Mandas the game's decisive figure. He denied John Yeboah from the spot in the 17th minute, keeping the hosts scoreless despite their dominant early spell and 49% possession. The breakthrough came after the break: Yeboah fouled Kenneth Taylor in the box, and Mattia Zaccagni made no mistake this time, drilling the resulting penalty into the top corner in the 51st minute for his first Serie A goal in 21 appearances. Nine minutes later, Tijjani Noslin headed home a Nuno Tavares cross to double the lead, with Mandas adding further saves off Simon Sohm and Antoine Hainaut to protect the clean sheet. For Lazio, the win moved them level with Roma and Inter at the summit despite missing several regulars, a strong sign of squad depth. Venezia, by contrast, sank to a fourth straight defeat and remain bottom of the table, piling further pressure on coach Giovanni Stroppa as their injury list grows.
