Haiti vs New Zealand

Haiti dominated New Zealand 4-0 in an international friendly at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, a powerful World Cup tune-up for both sides. A weather delay for lightning briefly held up proceedings, but once underway, Haiti were completely in control. Providence opened the scoring in the 11th minute, dribbling past Surman after a clever lay-off from Isidor and finishing past goalkeeper Paulsen. Joseph doubled the lead on 50 minutes, weaving past two defenders before slotting into the corner from a Nazon pass. Pierrot headed home an Arcus cross in the 60th, and Lacroix wrapped things up in the 85th with a composed first-time finish from a low Deedson cutback. New Zealand's Rufer was booked in the 41st for stopping a counter-attack. The result is a timely confidence boost for Haiti as the 2026 World Cup approaches. For New Zealand, also headed to the tournament, a difficult afternoon exposed defensive vulnerabilities that will need addressing before the group stage.
