นาซิโอนัล vs อูนิเบร์ซิตาริโอ

Nacional and Universitario de Deportes played out a goalless draw at the Gran Parque Central in Montevideo on matchday 5 of the Copa Libertadores Group B. The game's most dramatic moment came when Cándido's shot struck the crossbar in the 62nd minute, denying the hosts a crucial lead. With no goals, the evening belonged to the shot-stoppers. Vargas was excellent for Universitario, saving Coates' header in the 37th minute and blocking De los Santos' powerful strike in the 73rd. Martín Pérez Guedes wasted the clearest chance of the match in the 90+4th minute, shooting wide after Sekou Gassama's assist. Caín Fara was booked in the 40th minute. The draw doubled as Héctor Cúper's coaching debut with Universitario, a frustrating but not disastrous start. Thanks to a head-to-head advantage in the group, the point may yet prove useful for the Peruvian side, who still need to beat Deportes Tolima at home on May 26 to reach the last sixteen. Nacional also left the field empty-handed, missing a chance to pull clear in Group B.
