Kamprapport
Panama came from behind to beat South Africa 2-1 at DHL Cape Town Stadium on Tuesday, claiming the friendly series after a 1-1 draw in Durban last week. All the action came in the second half after a cagey, goalless opening 45 minutes.
José Córdoba broke the deadlock on 58 minutes to give Panama the lead, but Bafana Bafana hit back quickly through Mbekezeli Mbokazi just six minutes later to level things up. The hosts' joy was short-lived, however, as Jiovany Ramos restored Panama's advantage in the 76th minute to seal all three goals inside an 18-minute second-half blitz.
It is a frustrating result for Hugo Broos' side, who once again showed plenty of possession but lacked the cutting edge to turn dominance into victories. For Panama, it is a confidence-boosting series win as Thomas Christiansen's men continue their preparations for the 2026 World Cup.
