مکزیک مقابل استرالیا

Mexico edged Australia 1-0 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena in a disciplined pre-World Cup friendly that the home side controlled from the opening whistle. Johan Vásquez did the damage in the 28th minute, heading home an Alexis Vega corner to give El Tri the only goal they needed. Australia had their chances, Jackson Irvine's early effort drifted wide and Mohamed Touré spurned a clear one-on-one before halftime. Yellow cards for Jacob Italiano (33') and César Huerta (53') added some edge, and a Mexico goal was ruled out in the 75th minute as the referee was still organizing the defensive wall. The result stretched Mexico's 2026 record to six clean sheets in seven games, a timely confidence boost ahead of the tournament. Australia endured a fourth straight away defeat without scoring, though comebacks from Harry Souttar and Mathew Leckie after lengthy absences offered some encouragement.
