عربستان سعودی مقابل اروگوئه

Saudi Arabia and Uruguay shared the spoils with a 1-1 draw at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, with Maximiliano Araújo's late equalizer denying the Saudis a memorable World Cup upset in their Group H opener. It was Saudi Arabia who broke the deadlock against the run of play, center-back Abdulelah Al-Amri pouncing on a rebound off goalkeeper Fernando Muslera in the 40th minute, before picking up a yellow card three minutes later. Uruguay dominated possession but couldn't find a way through until Manuel Ugarte's drive struck the post in the 62nd minute and Araújo finally reacted fastest to a saved Federico Viñas header in the 79th. The draw comes with extra context for Uruguay, who arrived just 24 hours before kickoff following U.S. airspace authorization delays. Saudi Arabia, under new coach Georgios Donis, will take the point, but Uruguay, who outshot their opponents 25-7, will feel they left far more on the table.
