Al Shabab vs Al Fateh

A penalty and a late own goal split the spoils at SHG Arena as Al Shabab and Al Fateh played out a tense 1-1 draw in Round 30 of the Saudi Pro League, a result that keeps both sides deeply entangled in the relegation fight. Al Fateh broke the deadlock in the 36th minute when Sofiane Bendebka converted from the spot after VAR confirmed a foul in the box. Al Shabab dominated throughout, finishing with 59% possession and an xG of 2.07, yet needed a slice of luck to draw level: Marwane Saâdane turned the ball into his own net in the 74th minute, handing the hosts a deserved equalizer. Fernando Pacheco was the standout performer for Al Fateh, earning player of the match honors with a string of crucial saves. The draw leaves both clubs level on points, and with the drop zone still in plain sight, neither side can afford many more slip-ups before the season ends.
