รายงานการแข่งขัน: อัล อิติฟัค 2-3 อัล ริยาด
Al Riyadh pulled off a stunning comeback to beat Al Ettifaq 3-2 in a thrilling Saudi Pro League Round 28 clash in Dammam on April 9. Mamadou Sylla's injury-time winner was the defining moment of an extraordinary turnaround.
The home side had looked in complete control. Georginio Wijnaldum opened the scoring in the 5th minute, and Khalid Al-Ghannam made it 2-0 in the 33rd. Leandro Antunes then sparked Al Riyadh's revival, pulling one back on the stroke of half-time before levelling with a composed finish in the 54th minute.
With the score at 2-2, a share of the points looked likely, until Sylla pounced in the 90+3rd minute to complete the turnaround. The win is a massive boost for Al Riyadh in their fight to avoid relegation, while Al Ettifaq are left to rue squandering a two-goal lead in painful fashion.
