Freiburg vs Bayer Leverkusen

SC Freiburg and Bayer Leverkusen played out a thrilling 3-3 draw at Europa-Park Stadion on Bundesliga Matchday 25. The big story was Vincenzo Grifo, whose 34th-minute opener saw him equal Nils Petersen's all-time club scoring record of 105 goals. The lead swung back and forth in a frantic first half. Christian Kofane levelled just three minutes later (37'), before Yuito Suzuki restored Freiburg's advantage (43'). Álex Grimaldo then curled home a superb free-kick deep in stoppage time (45+3') to send the sides in level at the break. Moussa Terrier gave Leverkusen the lead for the first time shortly after half-time (52'), but Matthias Ginter rescued a point for the hosts with a vital equaliser in the 86th minute. A point apiece does little to change the bigger picture for either side, with Leverkusen staying in the top four and Freiburg holding firm in the top half as the season enters the home stretch.
