Maritimo vs FC Porto

Maritimo came agonizingly close to a statement home win, only for Porto to snatch it away with a dramatic late turnaround at Estádio do Maritimo. The Islanders led for most of the afternoon before the visitors found a knockout blow deep into the second half. Gabor Szalai put the hosts ahead in the 15th minute, pouncing after Diogo Costa parried the initial effort, with Maxime Dominguez picking up the assist. Porto leveled right on the stroke of halftime through Victor Froholdt, converting a deflected rebound off a cross from Alberto Costa. The game stayed tense until the 85th minute, when Oskar Pietuszewski lifted a shot into the top corner after a Kiwior through ball, with VAR confirming the goal amid Maritimo protests. Yellow cards went to Varela and Pepê for Porto, plus Igor Julião for Maritimo in stoppage time. It's a bruising result for Maritimo, who will feel they let a big opportunity slip against one of the league's heavyweights. For Porto, the comeback underlines their resilience and keeps them firmly in the title conversation.
