The Spain national football team, known as La Roja, is governed by the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and is widely regarded as one of the greatest national teams in football history. Spain won three consecutive major international tournaments: the UEFA European Championship in 2008, the FIFA World Cup in 2010, and Euro 2012 — an unprecedented treble. They added a fourth Euro title in 2024, defeating England 2-1 in the Berlin final. The squad plays home matches at the Estadio de La Cartuja in Seville. Legendary players include Iker Casillas, Xavi, Andres Iniesta, David Villa, and Fernando Torres. The current generation features Rodri, Pedri, Lamine Yamal, and Alvaro Morata. Under coaches like Vicente del Bosque and Luis de la Fuente, Spain's possession-based tiki-taka style revolutionised global football tactics and set a new standard for international excellence.
