The Vietnam national football team, known as the Golden Stars, is governed by the Vietnam Football Federation and competes in AFC Asian Cup qualifiers and FIFA World Cup Asian qualifying rounds. Vietnam achieved one of Southeast Asian football's greatest milestones by winning the AFF Championship (ASEAN Football Federation Cup) in 2008 and 2018, and reached the AFC Asian Cup quarter-finals in 2019 for the first time in history. Under coach Park Hang-seo, Vietnam transformed into a regional powerhouse. Stars like Nguyen Quang Hai have gained recognition across Asia. Home matches are played at My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi, a 40,192-capacity venue, and Vietnamese football continues to grow in popularity and quality across the country.
