Wadi Degla beat Zamalek 1-0 in the second round of the League Cup group stage at Suez Stadium, and the goal arrived with one minute of normal time to spare. Asser Hani scored it in the 89th minute after a goalless first half. He had been on the pitch since the 64th minute, when he came on as a substitute. Chico Banza had a chance early in the second half, in the 47th minute, but nothing went in until Hani found the net late on. The match report lists no penalties and no red cards. Zamalek picked up two yellow cards, against none for Wadi Degla. The home side had most of the ball, around two thirds by the available figures, and won nine corners to two. The result leaves Zamalek with two defeats from two in Group A. They lost their opening game 3-0 to ZED FC, with Ahmed Atef scoring twice in that match, so the group now looks a long way from their grasp.
