אספניול נגד דפורטיבו לה קורוניה

Espanyol and Deportivo shared a goalless draw at the RCDE Stadium on matchday 12, with Leo Román in the visitors' goal the reason the home side did not win on Eder Sarabia's first game in charge. The hosts began the better side. Roberto Fernández had two good chances inside the first 15 minutes, and Tyrhys Dolan sent in a header around the 18th minute that Leo Román tipped away. Lorenzo Amatucci had Deportivo's best first-half effort with a cross-shot, which went wide. Luismi Cruz was booked after 39 minutes. The second half was scrappier. Deportivo pushed forward more, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on from the break, but Espanyol still had the last real chance. In stoppage time Roberto Fernández was put clear and Leo Román saved again. Each side collected four yellow cards and nobody was sent off. Sarabia watched from the stands because of a suspension carried over from his time at Elche. It is the first clean sheet of the season for Deportivo, who kept the XI that beat Osasuna last time out. Espanyol are still waiting for their first win under Sarabia, in front of 31,030 fans.
