Έσεν vs ΡΜπ Λειψία

RB Leipzig went through to the next round of the cup with a 2-1 win at RW Essen, and they did it with ten men. The third-division hosts led for most of the night before two goals in five minutes from Christoph Baumgartner turned the tie. Essen went ahead in the ninth minute. Leipzig keeper Ørjan Nyland slipped on a back-pass from Castello Lukeba, and Lucas Brumme took the chance. Leipzig's afternoon got harder just before the break, when Nicolas Seiwald picked up a second yellow card in the 44th minute and was sent off. Essen kept a compact shape after the restart and Leipzig struggled to find a way through. Substitutions changed that. Baumgartner equalised in the 78th minute from a cross by Antonio Nusa, then headed in the winner in the 82nd from a free-kick by David Raum. The match was bad tempered late on, with four bookings between the 74th and 77th minutes, and Nyland was also cautioned in stoppage time. For RW Essen it ends a cup run that was 80 minutes from continuing. RB Leipzig go into the next round, though Seiwald's sending off is likely to leave them a player short.
