ΧΕΒΣ Αμβούργο vs Ντόρτμουντ

Borussia Dortmund made light work of fifth-tier HEBC Hamburg in the DFB-Pokal first round, romping to a 5-0 win in front of a record 45,917 fans at the Volksparkstadion, the biggest crowd ever to watch a cup match involving a fifth-division club. The scoreline barely reflected how tightly the tie was poised until the half-hour mark. HEBC held firm until the 33rd minute, when defender Janek Wrede turned a Julian Ryerson cross into his own net. From there the floodgates opened: Daniel Svensson doubled the lead in the 36th, before Samuele Inácio struck twice in three minutes either side of the interval to make it 4-0 at the break. Fábio Silva completed the rout early in the second half, and HEBC's Hammed Nawaz picked up a yellow card late on. For Dortmund, it's a routine step into round two despite a heavily rotated lineup. For HEBC Hamburg, playing in the cup for the first time in 91 years, the scoreline stings but the occasion itself was the real prize.
