Eintracht Braunschweig is a professional football club based in Braunschweig, Lower Saxony, Germany, founded in 1895. The club plays its home matches at the Eintracht-Stadion, with a capacity of 24,474. Braunschweig's finest hour came in 1967 when they won the Bundesliga title — their only top-flight championship — a memorable achievement for a club from a provincial German city. The club subsequently experienced decades of fluctuation between the divisions, spending long spells in the 2. Bundesliga and lower tiers. They earned promotion to the Bundesliga briefly in 2013-14 before relegation. In recent years, Braunschweig have been regular competitors in the 2. Bundesliga. The club maintains a passionate local supporter base and is considered an important institution in Lower Saxon football.
