Liverpool arrive on four straight wins, the latest a 2-0 league victory over Brighton, and they beat Tottenham 3-1 in the last round. They sit fourth in the league on 15 points. Chelsea are fifth on 13 but lost 2-0 at Tottenham on Saturday, having come back from 2-0 down to beat Leeds 6-3 in round three.
Cole Palmer is suspended and Joao Pedro is out with a thigh injury, so Danny Welbeck is expected to lead the line. Liverpool are waiting on Florian Wirtz (ankle) and Dominik Szoboszlai (hamstring), and heavy rotation is likely. Chelsea are unbeaten in the last three meetings.
