Борнмът срещу Астън Вила

Bournemouth beat Aston Villa 3-0 at the Vitality Stadium on Wednesday night to reach the Carabao Cup quarter-finals. The reigning Europa League champions were behind inside the opening ten minutes and never recovered. Amine Adli scored early, tapping in after Julio Soler chased a Marcus Tavernier chip and cut it back. Villa had more of the ball in the first half but failed to register a shot on target. Lewis Cook made it 2-0 just after the restart, getting to a Ben Gannon-Doak cross at the near post to beat Marco Bizot. In the 69th minute Álvaro Rodríguez took a pass from Tyler Adams, needed two touches and drilled the ball into the far corner. Changes from the bench, among them Alejandro Garnacho and later Tammy Abraham, made no difference. Cook was named man of the match. It was a fifth straight win for Bournemouth, while Villa, five-time winners of the competition, are out of it.
