Крус Асул срещу Леон

Cruz Azul won 2-1 against León in Jornada 15 of the Apertura 2026 at the Estadio Azteca, and it was their fourth league win in a row. The game stayed goalless for the whole first half, and the match was decided by a penalty and a deflected finish. The breakthrough came shortly after the break. Rodrigo Echeverría fouled Carlos Rodríguez in the box, and Andrés Montaño sent the spot kick low into the left-hand side of the goal. José Paradela made it 2-0 in the 72nd minute with a left-footed shot into the corner, set up by a header from Nicolás Ibáñez. Kevin Mier had already kept Ismael Díaz out one-on-one early in the second half. León pulled one back in stoppage time from a penalty, scored by José Alvarado, but there was no time left to find an equaliser. The result takes Cruz Azul to 29 points and third place, level with América and Chivas but behind both on goal difference. They visit Tigres next in Jornada 16. León stay on 22 points and are still chasing a top-eight place, with Guadalajara next.
