The Yemen national football team, governed by the Yemen Football Association, has competed in FIFA World Cup qualifiers and AFC Asian Cup campaigns since the federation's founding in 1962. The team historically struggled on the international stage due to political instability and limited infrastructure, but has shown renewed determination in recent years. Yemen represents a nation where football serves as a unifying force despite ongoing hardship. Players are drawn from domestic clubs and diaspora-based professionals, with the squad frequently managed by foreign coaches seeking to develop tactical discipline. Key fixtures include WAFF Championship appearances and AFC qualification rounds. The team plays home matches at Ali Mohsen Al-Muraisi Stadium in Sana'a when conditions allow, and continues working toward greater regional competitive presence.
