Al Ahly waited until the 93rd minute to beat Arab Contractors 1-0 in the League Cup at Cairo International Stadium, and the win leaves them top of Group C. It was goalless at the break, and not for want of chances. Mahmoud Abou El Saud made saves in the 17th and 21st minutes, Mohamed Hany hit the woodwork in the 42nd, and Sofiane Benjdida sent a shot wide in the 33rd. After the restart Mahmoud Salah missed a good opening in the 48th and Taher Mohamed struck the post in the 54th. Achraf Bencharki came off the bench in the 62nd minute and settled it in stoppage time. Hany delivered a cross from the right and Bencharki headed it in. None of the sources mention any cards. Arab Contractors coach Samy Komsan said his side closed down Ahly's routes through the match, but admitted they lacked solutions late on and are dealing with injuries and tiredness. Al Ahly have six points from two games, after a 5-0 win over Petrojet in round one. Arab Contractors are second on three.
