Veles Moscow and Shinnik Yaroslavl drew 1-1 in round 14 of the FNL on 18 October. Veles had far more of the ball and still needed a goal in the closing stages to avoid defeat. Shinnik went ahead in the 27th minute. Eduard Valiakhmetov struck from distance and the home goalkeeper made a mistake on it. Until then the hosts had controlled the early play. Gongapshev was booked for simulation just before the break, the only caution reported, and there was no penalty. Veles kept pressing after the interval and made several changes. Late in the second half, from a free kick by substitute Murza, Karim Giraev headed in, and he put away the rebound to make it 1-1. Sources differ slightly on the minute, 77th or 79th. Shinnik stayed compact and tried to hit on the counter. The hosts finished with 69% possession, 10 corners to 3 and seven shots to two. The point leaves Veles fourth on 27 points. Shinnik are eighth on 20.
